Biography:

My thoughts, my world is centered around my novel these days. I have always wanted to write. Have taken several stabs at it along the way. I imagined I would write about my sister, and did so in a startStopStart kind of way. In May of 2012, I was gifted something much bigger than that. Something I'd unknowingly been waiting for All My Life.

My Auntie Bo's closest friend, Gaby, spent ten years researching, taping interviews, writing and re-writing about Bo's life. Then she fell ill shortly after my aunt died in 1999. Her work was sealed away in boxes for over ten years. Last November, Gaby called and asked me if I would finish her book. Just like that.

So, here I am, with a huge cache of written material, dozens of books used in the research, and my own burning desire.

All of Gaby's chapters were in draft form. The basic, though complex, storyline is there - in a bare bones kind of way.

After reading and re-reading the enormous volume of work and notes, etc..., I determined the only way to go about this was to write my own story using Gaby's work as my library.

Someday, our book will be published with both of our names as co-authors, with my name under hers. We'll appear together on Oprah. I'm way to shy to show up by myself. ;-)
