Well, i start on the 31st.
I have a really cool english teacher and the other ones aren't that bad either. The honors classes in my school usually hand out less homework, just projects for later dates. Therefore, i still get some pretty good time on my computer as long as my dad doesn't yell at me.

what grade are you going into, i'm going into sophomore year.

After I wrote that, I realized that a contemporary character could still become involved in a medieval or futuristic situation. Duh! Anyroad, yeah, I started this novel between Fall and Spring semesters early this year. Now, I'm at it with a vengeance. I noticed that your two works average almost 6 and 3+ pages per chapter respectively; mine is averaging around 15 pages per chapter. I've wondered, during my writing, if my chapters are too long to hold a reader's interest and what is a good chapter length, etc. Stephen King's 'The Shining' averaged just under 8 pages per chapter and his 'Salem's Lot' averaged just under 28 pages per chapter - no pattern to follow from a professional .
Yeah, I was in Bridlington the August before you were. Cool!
As far as male responses to the situation described, it can vary, depending on the male's character and mood, from abject acquiescence and surrender to looking around immediately for a handy weapon with which to seek retribution.

yes, ice....i'm not kidding. Apparently it happens every once in a while.

Well i have been trying to lay out the basic ideas for a novel. If you like, i could send you a few of my notesi f you would like to read them. They're a bit rough, but they have a little bit of the story. I tried to start the story right off the bat, and write as i go, but i decided it wouldn't come out very well. It's more of a fantasy/light mystery/ action novel. Though i doubt if i could ever publish it as i'm only 15.

i'm ont saying one shouldn't broaden the horizon of the vampire--just don't make them sparkle like they spilled glitter on themselves doing some gay arts and crafts.

although now its too late...you're right, the genre is overworked.

and its refreshing ot see a girl who agrees with me. Someone i know brike up with his girlfriend after she asked him to put ice on his lips so they would be more like edward's when they kissed.

Responding to your question--i've been writing sincei was thirteen, so 2 years.

i've been into many supernatural themes, but i dislike the stereotypical or cliched themes that get published in books so often .I especially don't see the beauty of twilight...at all

    mocha,
After sending myself back to college a year ago, I found myself writing about Asian/Buddhist/Zen philosophy, world/U.S. History, general philosophy, blah, blah, blah, because they were required for the courses. At least I learned that I could write at that level . Years ago, I wrote a weekly column in the local paper on real estate business. I am now writing a novel (on chapter 7, 100 pages so far) that is, I suppose, fantasy but based loosely in historical reality.
I read your post re: Brandon. What type of fantasy writing do you like? I think I can assume it's not Medieval, futuristic, or Star Wars-esque type fantasy but more contemporary settings? Your question about a contemporary dude and expected responses from him is intriguing. Since he lives in Northern England, is that the Yorkshire Dales area, Bridlington, Thirsk, Ulm? I was there August before last.
    Regards,
    Bill

More Poetry

Then and Now
I used to think that being different was bad,
But now I know the only way to be ourselves is to be unique.

I used to think that if I made a new friend, I’d lose one,
But now I know that if I make a new friend I’ll always have room for another.

I used to think that nothing could hurt me,
But now I know that when I DO get hurt I bleed.

I used to think you could get anything by wishing,
But now I know you must work

My Poetry: What do you think?

by mocha on 12-24-2010 at 03:55 PM
Here's some poems i wrote awhile ago. I like them but i was hoping for some feedback.

War
Shadow-rimmed ditches,
drenched in darkness.

Blood rivers shine,
under a copper moon.

Stinking corpses cover the ground,
rotting into the stony battlefield.

Roses and brambles claw at flesh,
revealing alabaster bones.

Ravens tear at the wounds of the living,
dying

Okay, sorry i haven't been active but school has been absolutely horrible!!!!!!!!! so much to do...

and my writers block is not helping. i wanna write, i really do. but i can't. a major pet-peeve of mine is when people don't comment on what i write, even though they want to and i NEED them to. i am dependent on input. i would not have lasted the last two years on my stories without it and now all my friends have stopped. grr... so i am faced with a delema here:

My dream

by mocha on 08-28-2010 at 05:08 PM
Okay, so awhile ago i had this crazy dream that was a mix of the Transformers 2 movie and an Indiana Jones movie. yeah, i am weird.

'So Leo, Sam, and Mikaela are flung out into the middle of the desert by the good Decepticon (airforce plane) but he dissapears when they crash. Sam and Mikaela are on the top of a very high cliff and leo is at the bottom of the the cliff and he can't get up for some reason.

Then Sam turns into Indiana Jones and pulls a long coil of rope
