Hey, just wanted to say again how much I appreciated your comments on my last chapter, and to let you know that if you ever want someone to read a longer thing for you I'd be happy to (and would make sure not to grade beforehand this time, I guess it turns me bitchy and abrupt). Have read your long piece (had to twist your arm, eh?) and am gonna try to write up a crit tonight, but have had a pile of stuff to get through, LM entries and chapter tests and whatnot-- wanted to let you know I'm not ignoring it, just slow.

You know, I have done and read a wee bit of academic writing, and there's actually some very good stuff. Beautiful stuff even. What you're doing might be out of my usual area but if there's something I can help with, feel free to ask. It does sound interesting.

I put up the first part alone, since knowing what's wrong with it will probably help the second. Sprinkled liberally with similes and tried to look around sufficiently. Just don't describe the exact nature and extent of your laughter, I don't have to know the truth.

Understandable, your research problem--though, my god, isn't that almost like... worldbuilding?! But I do think research and planning can push you in interesting directions, towards things you wouldn't have imagined otherwise. Plausibility is a big concern for me right now, actually. Also there are medical things, not a lot, I try to research and to minimize them and it's not like the POV character should be knowledgeable (excuses, excuses), so hopefully it won't make you laugh too hard, but... (le sigh). Yet another way in which your help will be extremely valuable, as it always is, and much appreciated, too.

Careful what you wish for, I'm reworking these two enormous beasts of chapters that might be seriously terrible. Might put one up soon, or both less soon, though that could be like 10K and maybe not an easy read, either.

You should put up something long, I will probably enjoy it and it will alleviate my guilt. And I want to know about the guy slogging through the advertisements.
