Hi there, just thought I would let you know, I did the typing tests on both sites. The 10fingers site was easier as the words were bigger and there wasn't any punctuation to stress over. On that site I averaged 48 - 50 words a minute. On the other site, I averaged 47 words a minute, with minor errs. So I guess I wasn't as fast as I thought I was. So might have to do more practice before applying for jobs in a couple of weeks time. Meh!
Ha ha... Competitive. Ha ha. Don't worry about that. If you are competitive with me, you're surely to win. I haven't checked the site out yet, but will do within the hour. Have just logged on for the day and you know what it's like, checking all your emails, pm's, vm's... Golly takes me 30 mins just reply to everyone. Ha ha. I'll check it out and let you know how I go. Don't get too excited though, I won't be as fast as your clicky fingers. Hat's off to you on your 70'odd words. I hope to at least get 50. (If I am lucky)
Oh, thanks for the links.
Thanks to you too. It was fun. Glorious day?? You must be in another continent to me. Mind you it was lovely here too earlier. A balmy 7C and it's supposed to be winter. See you later.
Thanks kindly for amusing me in the game's thread. But must be off now. Have to let my kitty out to play for a while and hang clothes... Glorious day here right now. Then am off to the gym for a workout.
Oh my gosh, I remember the manual typewriters. And yes, I learnt a school as well. I distinctly remember my teacher placing me next to a boy just to annoy me, because he could do 40 words a minute and yours truly could only do 25. My teacher would yell it across the room; me being the worst typist in the room and my friend Harry being the best... So 30 odd years later I am still friends with my friend Harry. But he is in a higher place than I (I expected nothing less. He was excellent at everything) So we only talk on the odd occasion.
I want to go and do another test as well. If you find a good site, send the link my way.
Yes. I am a touch typist. Learnt to do that in receptionist school, over 25 years ago. But then I could only type 25 words a minute... Ha ha.
I used a website to test mine... But that was over 6 months ago. I should do it again, just for fun. Plus am looking for office work again. So may have to know my speed before re-entering the workforce. Blah!
Oh don't be sorry... Just giving you some credit, where credit due. I am not too fast. I'm only a 50 word a minute girl... What about you? Have you done a test lately?
Hello, gosh you type fast... I'm struggling to keep up with you on the games thread. Ha ha.
Many thanks for the like
Hi GG, just dropping by to say Hi.
And to answer your question on the spelling and Country issue.
You are correct, the forum is not located geographically. So spelling USA/UK issue here does not apply.
But when you set your story in (for example) an English Vicarage it would be best to avoid using USA spelling.
I know it seems petty, but when someone is creating an imaginary world for a reader to inhabit it helps.
