  1. No worries, you acknowledged it where I'd see it and I'm glad I could offer some things to think about. I always feel presumptuous, even if it doesn't always look like it.
  2. BTW, I didn't respond to your critiques in thread, though they were excellent and I edited my draft because of them, because I am posting a related story - a kind of prequel relating to Cadmus, and didn't want it to look like I was flooding the thread.
  3. I was a child when my parents raised them. I want to again, but my husband is NOT interested. At first the collecting eggs just stopped me in my tracks, and I remembered that our friends who sold us eggs sometimes, never did in winter, not enough to share. I had to look it up before I wrote the crit, and it varies, but conditions need to be good, light, enough food, and sometimes they stop if it is overly cold for a time. It depends, is the answer I guess. Things I'm not sure about always snag me, and I have to go look.
  4. Your editing is a writer's dream! I thought there might be less egg-laying in winter. I can't remember, it has been so long since I raised them. How is it different?
  5. She is 20 months. She is a great and worrisome climber. She can barely operate doors, and hasn't locked herself in anywhere yet, thank heaven! Mos tof the cabinets have safety catches now, but she loves to pull out pots and pans and phone books.
  6. How old is she now? Is she climbing your furniture like a monkey yet? Locking herself in the bathroom or helping herself to the goods in your kitchen cabinets?
  7. I love nutella! sophia hasn't yet developed a taste for it, though.
  8. Does Sophia know of Nutella? LOL. I came back to the States years ago after a stay in Europe, including several weeks in Germany, and have a hard time passing up Nutella when I see it. My first college boyfriend was German. I can count to ten, and know a couple words. Koln, kaput. And a bad word I can't seem to spell, something to do with a pig. Oh, and Vas and I used to know where, when, why and how too. It will be great for your daughter to have two home countries.
  9. my german is pretty poor, I got help from my husband who is a duel german-American citizen. My daughter is too, but the only german she knows is "nein" (no) and "choco" (chocolate). Although it may take a while, we are saving up to buy a small flat in germany so we can live there 3 months a year.
  10. I did not realize you spoke German, how is it that you do?
