I think a proper introduction is called for.

Hi Dave, I'm Andy, and I'm very pleased to meet you.
I can understand the focus in your life at the moment. I'm at the age when funerals are getting more prevalent than weddings. It makes me think of the next step beyond and I'm in the pink according to my last medical.

I'm just an awkward sod who randomly found your little vent and felt touched by your stoicism and general strength in dealing with a very bad situation. I have nothing to offer but a stranger's...this is difficult, a prayer to what, an unfeeling universe? A Deity? To a fellow traveller in need.

I would use single quotation marks, and save double for speech.



A 17-20 would be my assessment.

It read real. I don't know if it was. Whatever it was successful in its intent.
