The tile over the sink burst into fragments. Roy Batty's head popped through the dust and splinters. "You better get it up! Or I'm gonna have to kill ya!"

I tore a loose two-by-four, maybe a meter long, from the wall. Batty watched me, expectant. I took two fast steps and swung the board over the back of his skull. The board broke with a loud crack, and dry reddish fibers spiked from the end in my hand.

"That's the spirit!", Batty crowed.
