"Killing Me" ; Grunge/ hard rock

Code:
hey everyone! Long time no see, I've been very busy so I haven't posted a song in a while. I'm actually in a band now \\:D/ We're just starting out well two of us are the other is a god at guitar. So I'm the vocals, I think and guitar, not lead tho. and I get to write lyrics!!
A mental affliction, all in my head
Leave me so bad, wish I were dead
Pins and needles, all through my chest
So much pain, did I pass your test?

*Chorus*:
Keep on killing me x4

A single light beam, through out the black
One quick stab, right to my back
Internal bleeding, bout to convulse
The sky's growing dark, losing my pulse

*Chorus*

Up in the air, looking at you
Tears in your eyes, girl don't be blue
I'm out of the way, now do what you want
Still can't see, so won't follow your taunt

Screaming x2
Blood all on your hands
Screaming x2
The knife is at your feet
Screaming x2
Keep on killing me

Pretty generic really. Nothing special here, sounds like every post-grunge, modern rock act in existance really.

Ah the typical lyricists bullshit excuse, "its how I feel".
Are you daft? Everyones emotions are cliche, or do you think theres a special type of love/fear/hate/anger/lust/greed/stupidity out there waiting to be discovered?

The point is that you WRITE cliche, not feel it, and so "its how i feel" doesn't excuse crappy writing and bad phrasing. Good lyricists find new and innovative ways to bend the english language to express their feelings.

Subsequently, if your feelings are cliche, why feel the need to drone on the universe with something its heard a million times? So the next generation of 15 year olds can have something to sympathize with? Common, theres better things to write about than your emotions.

Ahh I see, yet still isn't that why people write lyrics? To express their feelings? Also, poetry. Also, that's what many people listen to music for so they can relate to a song. Just putting it out there, I understand what you mean but most songs are written about feelings and events in some ones lives.

God, its the people who love this that make shitty bands millions. Seriously, listen to mystery (and ignore his comment about not writing about emotions - everything you'll ever write will be about your emotions, even if its mainly directed at a political or world wide event, it'll be due to your emotions about it - but apart from that LISTEN TO HIM)

I understand about the way I worded it being cliche. But good job on putting down everyones opinions =D> I know I have to write in a way to prevent it from being cliche, I can see it now from you and mystery. But if these "shitty" bands make millions, wouldn't that mean they weren't shitty in others opinions and shitty in yours?
