Rock and Roll mothaflippas!

I notice the word "racist" has been thrown around in a few places on this forum. Because of some of the content of this song, I want to assure you that it is by no means racially biased. I'm not going to ruin the song by telling anyone the meaning, because for those of you who don't feel like figuring it out, it's just supposed to be a funny song about robots. For those of you who do want to figure it out, you probably can. It's not that deep.

What we need, is a giant fighting robot
With machine gun arms, and laser beam eyes
What we need, is a giant fighting robot
With metallic boots of gargantuan size

Metal Helmets made of steel
Robots have no time to heal
Lubricate their joints with grease
Robots have no time for peace.

What they've got, is giant fighting robot
A giant fighting robot to melt all our minds
What they've sent, is an evil fighting robot
To distract our thoughts, and draw our eyes

Metal Helmets made of Steel
Robots have no time to heal
Lubricate their joints with Grease
Robot have no time for peace

What we need is a giant fighting robot
To bring those hypnotists to their knees
What we need is our very own fighting robot
Our very own fighting robot just like the Japanese

Iron boosters fire the flame
Robots feel no woe nor shame
Flying forward to assault
Fighting robots have no faults

What they've got is a giant fighting robot
with laserbeam eyes, and machine gun hands
What they've done, is they took their giant robot
And mass distributed to foreign lands

Metal Helmets made of Steel
Robots have no time to heal
Lubricate their joints with Grease
Robots have no time for peace

We need to build a giant fighting robot
To bring our enemies to their knees
We needed to build a giant fighting robot
but they beat us to it, those clever Japanese.

So let's go build our giant fighting robot
with nuts and bolts, and everything else
Yes let's go build, our giant fighting robot
And place it on the Toys-R-Us Shelves!

http://www.purevolume.com/bobtotherescue <A link to a very poorly recorded version with some guitar playing that I'm just ashamed of at this point, having bettered myself immensely in the two years since. Just hit play.

God...that was cool!

I thought of the Super Fighting robots of Mega Man, or Attack of the Clones, when I was reading this. The recording is great! I'd love to here more stuff like this, "RACK" on man!

Man, I had a lot of really funny songs with those guys.

Unfortunately we rarely play together anymore. Occasionally I get together with the other guitarist and jame out and write stuff...I'll post our most recent song. It's a rap that mocks the conventions of gangsta rap. God I want to record it. The loops we laid down are PERFECT for gangsta rap. Just little diminished licks.

Iwould say be careful of the robots. It was nice and original, and still is, but you don't want to over do it. With that said, it was an interesting piece, and I enjoyed it .

Yeah, it's better listened to tha read, because heard the repitition sounds more robotic and less...umm...lame.

Oh, I see, you mean as subject matter? Oh, believe me I write about much more, but I find my best songs are always about robots... Just like the theme.

Naturally though, this robot is of a very different kind from the rapbot.

Wanna take a guess as to what it is besides just a funny-ass robot?

well it's like a war machine. It's ok to have a theme, but it's best to shy away from having a majority content for your lyrics. It may be more poignant with Robots than with other things because other subject matter is more accepted than robots, so any song with robot gets alikened to another, but it would be nice to just see some other stuff too.

It is like a war machine, technically it's the electronics industry, particularly in the case of entertainment-related products. Video games, mostly. Hence distracting our thoughts.

This reminds me of somethinig I was thinking about writing about then found out Stephen King is already writing about it.

Robot lawnmowers. If one of those got a virus we'd all be screwed.

I don't have much to say in the way of critique but I like the flow.
