A Widow's Walk

I don’t want to say goodbye
So god please don’t let her die
I love her so much
I will miss her tender touch
I have loved her for so long
Her dying would be so wrong
So I ask you my beloved
The one I recently wedded
Please don’t die on me

Marie my sweetheart
Wake up and talk to me
Cause I don’t want to be apart
And have to take the widow’s walk

I don’t want to see you die
Cause all I will do is cry
Weep day and night
Next to your burial site

Her leaving would be such a shame
That I would never be the same
So Marie my sweet darling
Please don’t die on me

Marie my sweetheart
Wake up and talk to me
Cause I don’t want to be apart
And have to take the widow’s walk

Marie my sweetheart
Wake up and talk to me
Cause I don’t want to be apart
And have to take the widow’s walk

I see the line go flat
My baby is gone
Doctor says eight o’clock
Guess I will have to take the widows walk

a male is a widower

it was an interesting concept, and I liked it from the begining, but then it seemed like there were alot of verses that were simply the same message with differen't words. I would to see a verse or two about how you feel, or who this marie is, what has happened or could happened.

To be honest I didn't really enjoy this song. It kind of seemed like you focused too much on making it rhyme and didn't pay much attention to word choice. A lot of the lines were weak and just kind of fell flat...it didn't seem like the subject really cared that much about what was going on. It seems like the dying of this person's wife is a minor inconvenience to him. It's a good idea for a song and I like the use of the "widow's walk" line in it. But you really should try to make the emotion of the song stronger.
