Song - Tired of Complaining

I've thought about what Blademaster said and I think that some of my next peices will be story lyrics, but before that I decided to write one more about me as I'll take a hiatus from that for a little while . The hope is though, as it always has been, that you will be able to connect with something in this piece.

Looking back
the road's been long and hard.
Beaten down
but I've come so very far.
Days are passing
the world around is changing.
memories fade
on the edge I'm hanging.

What was once to beautiful in age
disappears from the sight of my eye.
The world begins to slip away
wieghed down by the heaviness of life.

Chorus:
It's hard to take another step
hard to keep moving on.
But if life were easy
then living would be done.

My feet cease to seek moving
and my hands are quickly turning numb.
Sounds of life are no longer soothing
another day I can't get on.

but I'm tired of complaining
tired of the judging I recieve.
Everything is the same thing
I just want some hope to believe.

*chorus*

And we all have our demons
sins and troubles that we must bear.
yet there never seems a reason
but then-no one said life was fair.

But still I hope for tomorrow
and the hidden secrets that it holds.
In spite of everything that I know
there's beauty left in this somber world.

*chorus*

And now I sit
at the end of the day.
Remembering
and wond'ring why I came.
Was it fortune
or for fame and glory.
I can't recall
I'm just another story.

*chorus*

Interesting song.

I really liked these lines:

Quote:
But if life were easy
then living would be done.
Sounds like this was said by a crusty old man sitting at a bar drinking rye ... straight up!

By the way, thanks for all your helpful comments on the songs I've been posting. You're very positive and insightful ...this is nice to see/read.

haha thanks. I'm far from a crusty old man, but as far as lyrics are concerned I may be. I've had to develop a kind of shell from the damaging attacks I've recieved from a couple of members. I enjoy reading your stuff so it was a pleasure for me, I post too much stuff for all of them to get comments, but I'm glad you chose this one because I was anxious to see what others thought.

I know you're not a 'crusty old man' don't worry. But as I was reading these lyrics, and esp. those 2 lines I imagined an old man saying this to the barkeep or something, you know? It gave me a nice visual.

I've seen you being attacked ... too bad. That's why these boards can be a bit tricky and intimidating at times, for new people to post. But hey, with experience comes brevity.

These songs that I've been posting are actually my fiance's. He's taking a break from recording to moderate a hockey site and hasnt had time to produce new stuff. I really do like his work (I'm not being biased) and love his writing. I tried to encourage him to join up here too, but so far he said no. So by posting his stuff and having people comment (so far really positively) I'm hoping to lure him in here.

haha

I will post my stuff soon - short stories, still being worked on. In the meantime I love reading other people's things, and will keep doing so. I'm no expert either but I love to help, if and when I can.

Keep posting, and I'll keep reading.
