life is sweet for the gardener
This is a silly sort of song....imagine, kazoo as lead intrument, clanging and bird whistles!! something a little different! It's got a lot of dialogue and its delivered with a punchy attitude!
verse 1
Lights in the parlour and in the corner sits a pretty girl
A boy who's a charmer says "I wanna marry you, I only want a pretty girl"
Caution be present, cause sometimes, looks are deceiving
She flutters her eyes and she says "Well, Mr what do you do for a living?"
(Mr what you do for a living)
Verse 2
He says, "I've been to university and got myself a swish degree and now,
I'm a money maker"
If you want a diamond rock, a merc, well baby doll guess what, I'm your fella
If money's all it takes to buy you pretty girl then consider my wallet an offer
I'll just wait for the love to kick in yeah, surely it'll come a little later
(surely it'll come a little later)
break (Kazoo and clanging)
Chorus
Well Itchy Ritchie gone and got yourself a floozy, now life, is such a picture
ooo, in out money shouts, success is what it's all about for you, money maker
Well, shares boom time zooms, uh oh hootchie kootchie, your mamas' gone and got herself a lover!
He mows your lawns, he cleans your pool and does your wife each afternoon, yeah
Life is sweet for the gardener
Break
Chorus
Verse 3
Well the moral of this tragic tale about a stupid male, is love aint for buying
You fill your house with pretty things, a trophy wife who bites and stings but love,
aint for sale
Cause now your'e paying alimony and little Tommy wants a pony
Your pockets getting empty,
She got the house, she got the art, she gets 10 grand a month that tart.....
and she's still got the gardener,
yeah, life is sweet for the gardener
Life is sweet for the gardener......

Ooo, cheeky. I like.
I love the phrases like 'hootchie kootchie' and 'baby doll'
Some great rhythms eg. 'tragic tale about a stupid male'. At the same time, few possible rhythmic flaws, but if a lot of it's spoken, it don't matter.
I love your title and how it's delayed til the end of the chorus - I was just waiting and wondering how it would come in, and when it did, it was fantastic!
One thing though. Would 'a boy who is a charmer' really say 'I wanna marry you, I only want a pretty girl'? Wouldn't he say something more, well, charming?

This is very, very cool Original, smooth and sassy.
Would LOVE to hear it performed!
