Her Name Was Amy

I needed a fun song that crowds could just jump to. This was what I came up with. Rather short, but it suits the music.

(Verse 1)
Dead expressions
Painting no-name faces
Thats the story
Of my generation

Whole lives wasted
On strung-out streets
Raptor-eyed kids
With no place to be

(Chorus Lead-in)
But there was one jewel of a girl there
That helped me to see

(Chorus)
Her name was Amy
She was a sight to behold
She made me believe
That we could never grow old
She shined a light on my darkened eyes
When she didn't even try

(Verse 2)
The summer of 89
That was the year
The East coast was destroyed
And no one shed a tear

Buildings burned down
But still the grass
Never looked greener
From behind the glass

(Chorus Lead-in)
But amidst the hell of it all
Waited my jewel of a girl

(Chorus)
Her name was Amy
She was a sight to behold
She made me believe
That we could never grow old
She tore down all my worn out walls
And helped break my fall

(Instrumental break)

Oh-ohh
Oh-ohh (fade)

I know the titles cliche as hell, but I figured, this isnt the type of thing id give an obscure title

Bika is on a distinguished road

Something about that line doesn't quite sit right with me, and I think

reads a little awkward as well.

Otherwise, very cool

I really like the verses, but I was kind of disappointed when it came to the lead-in and the chorus. It seems to completely shift direction and mood. Maybe you've got two songs here that need to be separated. Either that, or try to find a unity of tone.

That's my advice to improve it - but if you've already written the music, I know you'll be loathe to change it.

happy writing.
