Like A Flashlight Lost, My Energies There But Wasted
Like A Flashlight Lost, My Energies There But Waste
I saw Kill, a dancing queen
Doing pretty tricks on a stage
Id never seen so much glitter
In my twenty-two years of age
As she slid up and down that pole
A tear swelled in my eye
Because glitter and gold
Wouldn't get her soul
No matter how hard she'd try
(chorus)
C'mon lets do this punk rock thing
You do the singing Ill just bleed
Lets do this fucking punk rock thing
You wont get a prayer out of me
I met my new friend Razor
A gambling man on the streets
He said he'd grown bored of this scene
And he had someone for me to meet
As that needle lined my rusted veins
With oil to stop the itch
Razor curled into a ball because
A broken heart's not so easy to fix
(chorus)
At the end of the night Ill be with you
Face down on the floor
We'll put our lives on the line
And only dream of something more
You'll fly higher than ever before
But the relief only lasts awhile
When we both come down
All we'll have to share
Is our broken, chemical smile
(Chorus x2)
You do the driving Ill do the drinking
That brick wall will welcome us both.

i liked this one alot. It seemed like one of those story teller songs. I'm just worried about the "punk rock" askpect it gives off. If it is played to a moshing crowd, they wont care what it is about. I think if this were played with an acoustic base to it, it will get a much better reaction. But again, great song

The title has me wondering if there's a typo...or it's just something I just don't get. Was it supposed to be 'Like A Flashlight, My Energy's There, But Wasted'? It's the 'Energies' that throws me off.
I like the lyrics, but as I don't know much about the art of writing lyrics, I couldn't really give an indepth critique of them. I have to say I like Elipsis' suggestion of an acoustic base.

Haha, yeah dont confuse yourself trying to find meaning where I just had a lapse of brain activity. Good typo on my part, it should read "Like A Flashlight Lost, My Energy's There But Wasted", couldnt fix the title after I posted it though. Im glad you liked it

^Yet another memorable quote from you.
At first, the colorful rock & roll type vibe wasn't flowing into the blood stream, but when you took it to the streets it became something else. I don't think it was your best because the amount of appeal glitter and veins provides, but you still continue to dominate as one of the best song-writers in this section, if not the leader.
