These Dark Glasses
There's colors all around me
But I don't see them shine
There's voices preachin' to me
But I don't hear them on high
No matter what you tell me
I just hear a lie
As I stare into an empty room
Behind dark glasses I hide
I must have started when I first looked up
I let my blue eyes fade
Shaded them with darkness
To scare my sickness away
Now that blue has turned to black
Will I ever see myself again
I stare into a darkned room
Behind dark glasses I lay
I try to take them off my face
But my hands do shiver and shake
Trembling softly
Revealing what the glasses made
As I try to give color into my life
I can't help but look away
All the colors surrounding me
Displaying what these dark glasses take
Displaying what these dark glasses take

Oh, Mama, can this really be the end,
To be stuck inside of Mobile
With the Memphis blues again.
