Don't Be Pitiful, But Be You

Don’t Be Pitiful, But Be You

La la la x4

Verse 1
I still walk around with everyone but it always seems like I am gone.
I’m not anymore, in this circle of friends,
Is this ignorance a sign of the end?
Though we laughed and we joked through all of our years,
I’m shouting for some visibility through all my tears.
They still talk of their life like it’s always been,
But I seem too distant to now fit in.

Bridge:
Run around in a circle,
Scream if you want to,
Cry if u need to.

Chorus:
But now it’s like I’m not even here,
Gotta whisper in your ear,
Do you see me?
Do you see me at all?
Can you hear me?
Or am I talking to a wall?
You’re making me feel, making me feel, so damn small.

Verse 2
I drank down a bottle or two,
Just for fun, and just for you.
But nobody really cared,
I just looked like a fool, so I do.
But after a while I was forgotten.
Something took up my space, someone took my place.

Repeat Bridge Twice
Repeat Chorus

Verse 3
I ran down the road, past you all.
I didn’t care for it anymore.
I went straight for the invisible wall,
But ended up on some shore.
So I fell to the ground, and cried out loud.
I didn’t like the invisibility of me,
I don’t know who I’m supposed to be.

Repeat Bridge Twice
But die when you’re ready…

The la la la thing at the start reminded me of Cibo Matto, but the lyrics sounded pretty good in Coolio's voice with a hip-hop beat in the background. (I'm listening to Fifty cent) I love the chorus, and the final line is really a killer.

Thanks for sharing!
