Untitled (thus far)

I would not die
I would not try
Cause everything falls away to nowhere tonight
And we can stay out late and watch the morning light

I would not suffer you
I would not care to do
At a quarter of midnight
the right degree of moonlight
Can make you high

I could never be responsible
I would never be who I am
From the bottom of the barrel I scream
Does no one know what I mean?
No one knows what I mean?

You called and I came
And though you tried so hard,
I don't think I'll ever be the same

It's a bit short, I think you need to paint more of a picture.

Thank you for your reply. I have written other songs, some that tell stories, some that leave much more to the imagination. I have always preferred the school of songwriting in which the lyrics are left ambiguous, and are secondary to the music. I feel it creates more mystery, and allows the listener to create a much more personal/subjective attachment to the song--a little bit of verse here that reminds him/her of this, a bit there that reminds of that.

Here's another:

Breathing, whoa again
Breathing let's me know I'm alive again
Feeling like a child
Locked away in his room for hours and hours

Jesus, my only friend
Footprints in the sand
He says: "Near is the end,
Repent all you sinners for your time is near at hand"

Show me the silence
Show me the pain
Show me the sunshine through the rain
What once was science
Now burns in flame
Give me your guidance once again

Weakness around every bend
Recess, where have you been?
Teach me everything you know
Let walk beside you everywhere you go

Show me the silence
Show me the pain
Show me the sunshine through the rain
What once was science
Now burns in flame
Give me your guidance once again
