Song - Angels in the City
I wrote this song with two meanings,
one the fact that charities are often flailing in neglect and two, because I know plenty of kids on and offline that keep pushing away people that want to help them.
Workin' on the city streets,
helpin' unfortunetes they meet.
But they're no longer here,
slowly they begin to disappear.
Chorus:
Angels in the city,
workin' for you and me.
Workin' invisibly,
their work gone unseen.
used to find on every corner,
soup in one hand bread in another.
But now they start to fade today,
as we slowly push them far away.
Bridge:
They are the angels,
workin' in city hells.
but now we ignore them all,
now we've let them fall.
no tears shed on their loss,
no care for lives that be lost.
*chorus*
no we've compacted it to dust,
memories shoved aside we must.
cant look back on work undone,
cant see fact is that there is no one.
*chorus*
last verse:
No time to cry over whats dead,
we must look up instead.
No time for the apathy,
no angels in the city.
Bridge:
Time to let it all go,
crying makes it all so slow.
We can weep and mourn later,
memories we can savior,
but when the angels are gone,
there will be none.
*chorus*
