Kicked Out

I wrote this after a band practice. I play in a local black metal band, and basically stay away from depressing subjects. I look for power and strength in music, not sadness.

The background story to this song is that we've had a guy in our band who was really talented, but didn't really much care for all of our aspirations in music. So we kicked him out. The guitar is very simple, just four chords and has a very relaxed rock'n'roll feeling, not much unlike the Beatles. The lyrics are rather humorous, I thought.

Kicked Out

I woke up somewhere this night
Don't know, but maybe I might
Go meet up with some friends
And go to practice tonight.

I took a walk there
My friends just weren't fair
They grabbed me by my hair
And told me I'm out of the band.

I got kicked out of the band
And I just don't understand
I play guitar really well
But I got kicked from the band.

r.e 'kicked out'

it is a bit to sad, and not humourus at all really, read 'i got kicked out of the band, and i just dont understand'. also the ryming sounds a bit to primary standard. but it seems to put across your emotions at the time quite well.

I agree with Baldrick. Too plain and simple. Simple is good, but this is too simple. The topic is not bad, and with better writing could be good. Keep working on it. I would like to hear it to music. It may be a much better song being accompanied by music. If you have any music recordings, I would love to listen. My email is in my profile.
