Momma struggled to give me a breath,
held me closely to her life-giving breasts,
She said Daddy knows your little soul,
But he is gone, heaven bound.
He lost himself for you,
so that you could be forever found.

Chorus: Growing older my precious child,
Now I'm a soldier, for the army of trials,
Seek for the wisdom, seek for grace,

Now I'm twenty two and a boy he comes for me,
Tells me he loves me, forever we'll be.
My own connection, and momma she cries,
cause three years later it's my turn to rise!
A child of my own flesh and bones,
She is a jewel a gem, one of a kind!

Now I'm eighty and dying real fast,

The best part is the chorus. The verses, especially the first, need a little work. But overall very good.

Yea, I agree, the chorus is awesome. I am curious how "A montage of life" is going to be melodically, but good overall.
