    Live in the Now

The sun rose above the many buildings I passed
We took a walk along the beach and we graced the sand
She stopped the clock so we could make it last
From dusk till dawn, I never want to change my past

When time runs out we forget the clocks, run in
I don't ever want to see the lights go dim
If I had the choice I'd pick her for love
But we're only the summer kids, the winter's tough

Let's forget the future and live in the now
C'mon, c'mon, live in the now

The sun started to fade amongst the grass we strolled
She said it's getting late, the hand of the clock had rolled
Eight, nine, ten o'clock, she went in early, so soon
I guess we all move on, you just never guessed it'd happen to you

Let's forget the future and live in the now
C'mon, c'mon, live in the now

As I packed my bags and smiled at the photo's we took
You could see the summer eyes, the signs we overlooked
All fades away at the end of a sunny day
All fades away as tomorrow brings a brand new day

Let's forget the future and live in the now
C'mon, c'mon, live in the now

wow. I love the lyric about time running out when clocks run in. That's a powerful insight.
    There's nothing like a simile.

Thank you. That was the only line I was wary of while writing it as well.

Nice imagery, and a great classic theme!

Try as I might, I just failed to find rhythms that fit the words, at times.

If you already have rhythms and melodies in your head that fit your text, then fine! If not, keep working the text until it gels.

    Good luck!

Bery nice. Very nice indeed. I like the message you put behind this. It says a lot to the listener. Good work!

Thank you both! 'Old man's dreams' yeah I have a melody and rhythm in my head but thanks for the critique nonetheless
