Four Letters Into Life (contains adult language)

She said love was never something I could hold
no that word never meant too much to me
she said all the times I ever heard your voice
I had a thrill, but I have no name for it

    four letters into life
and you think you own me
a simple word and you're off again
who the fuck do you think you are?

she said a heart only serves to help you pump the blood
to those parts you never mention when the lights are on
so don't say that it's burning for me
because I've heard your body talk before

    four letters into life
and you think you own me
a simple word and you're off again
who the fuck do you think you are?

oh sitting here crying only to myself
over what she said and how she left
and though this heart may have never loved
it sure feels like it's breaking

four damn letters that can mean too much
one simple word that I said too soon
who the fuck did I think I was?
who the fuck do I think I am?

    Erick Diaz, sometime in 2004

Hey thanks! I appreciate the praise. I wrote this when I was around 20 I believe having just ended a relationship where I went in head first and she leaped out the escape hatch ha ha. I haven't recorded it in like 7 years but I'd like to get around to revisiting my old music as soon as I get a new mac. (garage band is awesome for software illiterate boneheads like me.)

LOL. Yea I think everyone has a similar relationship story I most certainly do.

Garage Band is brilliant. My man records a lot of music using that and Line 6, but that is mainly for guitar. Do you play an instrument?

I mess around with my Stratocaster from time to time but am by no means terribly proficient. I'd love to learn to play piano when I can find the time, maybe when I retire ha ha.

Awesome. My man has a Strat, love the sound of them. He wants to get a Les Paul, but there will be quite a bit of saving up for that There is a very cool forum based in South Africa Guitar Forum SA - Index. They have some great tips and that on there with regards to playing, recording, gear, etc. It's really good for people who are keen to improve their skills.

I should check that out. I've been meaning to devote some resources to setting up a little home recording studio, but I'm getting married in September so pretty much everything is going towards making sure the transition goes smoothly. Maybe next year!

    So you're Erick Diaz?
Good stuff, good stuff, would be interesting to hear how it sounds, from start to finish.

The "f-bomb" seemed a little unnecessary, honestly.
