Staying Fit
May seem cheesy, but I have seen other threads like this be successful on other forums...
So, how do you stay fit? What kind of exercise do you enjoy? Are you at your goal health, or do you still have a ways to get there? Just a place to share, inspire, and be amazing!!
---------------------------------
Me? Well, I thought you'd never ask.
I love to:
1. Kayak
2. Mountain Bike
3. Go to Spinning classes
4. Lift Weights, especially work out my legs
5. Work out on the crosstrainer/eliptical
Tonight I think I'm going to go work my abs and get on the crosstrainer...in the morning I'm going to get up super early, swim 20 laps and then go to a spinning class at 6:00 a.m. I can't wait till this weekend cuz I'm going to go kayaking down in Galveston I LOVE the weekends!

I haven't been exercising as much as I'd like lately. My local gym shut down recently, so I'm all flustered. In the meantime, I have a treadmill in my house that I use. But I'm obsessed with ellipticals and how many calories you burn on them.
I also like playing basketball and just going for walks. Dancing works, too.
And you can't forget Wii Fit! =P

Monday, Wednesday and Friday -- 1 hour yoga, 30 minutes weight training, 90 minutes jogging
Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday -- 1 hour pilates, 2 hours jogging
Sunday -- It varies, sometimes the Spousal Unit and I will wander the Farmer's market for several hours, sometimes we'll go biking.
I'm at a good place healthwise, although lots of people think I'm too thin.

I train for marathons (well half marathons right now) and do lots of cross country running. Give me an iPod and I can literally run for hours. I try to work out 3 times a week but it's hit or miss depending on how much work I have that week. It's all free weights cause pulleys suck. I'm a bit on the thin side (because of all the running) but I'd consider myself to be pretty strong.

You're a little fireplug. What's a "spinning class"?

Dude, I wish I could run. I can 'run' on the elliptical forever, but I get such bad shinn splints when I run that I can't bare it. Plus I get so bored because I don't feel there is any momentum.

Spinning is a biking class, usually lasts about an hour. The instructor turns off the lights, turns up the music, and you use specialized bikes to get a real workout. Part of the time you are standing while biking, sitting while biking, sometimes you do 'jumps' (standing up and sitting down), and sometimes you just sprint. All this while adjusting the tension on the bike. I have heard you can burn 800 cals in one of these classes easy.
Exercising just feels right to me. Makes me feel much more alive, like I can taste life again

Jog, lift weights, ride my bike, walk to most places rather than drive (though I love my Mustang. Sleek, black, and sexy - mmm).

In my personal case, training and work go hand in hand. I´m a longshoreman.

I drop forty to fifty Ponderosas, block them to fit the stove, haul the loads to the house where I split and stack twelve cords of wood so my ass doesn't freeze and drop off this winter.
Then I buck 400 bales of alfalfa from the field, load and haul them to the barn so my horse's asses don't freeze and fall off this winter.
Then I crawl under my truck and lower my two hundred pound transfer case on to my chest, squirm out from under the truck on my back and drag the transfer case to the shop so I can rebuild it and do everything in reverse the next day. I do this just for exercise. No one's ass will fall off. But if I don't, I will have to walk and walking is exhausting.
On Sundays, I go to the gym, drink mineral water from Fugi and lift weights-no, not really. That would be insane.

I love ellipticals--truly I do, but there isn't a gym where I live and I have neither the money nor the space to get my own.
So, I walk. That's really about it. I used to jog but my dog's old and can't keep pace for more than a few minutes. I used to swim, too. However, since it's so mountainous around here, my walking can really be considered hiking.
