Flaming Hacky Sack

Am I the only one who is old enough (and American enough) to remember the old Saturday Night Live skit with Dan Ackroyd as Irwin Mainway, President of Mainway Toys?

Anyway, Mainway Toys was supposed to be a consumer nightmare of a company that made toys for kids such as "Bag-O-Glass", "Bag-O-Sulfuric Acid", "Chainsaw Teddy", etc. The whole schtick was about how absurdly dangerous the toys were, and how the owner of the toy company would defend them as kid friendly at all costs.

I saw this Australian toy that was banned and laughed my fool head off because I thought it must have been manufactured by Mainway Toys.

Apparently someone thought it was a good idea to sell kerosene soaked hacky sacks to kids?

Ha ha. My brother has the best of Dan Akroyd (and just about every Saturday Night DVD available.) I've seen that. The DVD also has Bass-O-Matic on it, that porn guy in the leather sport coat, and his middle aged male prostitute character. Great stuff.

Do you remember Lawn Darts?

Fred Garvin...male prostitute. Great stuff, indeed.

Lawn Darts were fun. While dangerous, I would not put Lawn Darts in the same league as a fuel soaked ball, set ablaze and kicked from kid to kid. That's just crazy.

Well I have really seen it all now. I thought bad taste peaked when I used to work for a sweet manufacturers and discovered that one of their top selling sweets was, wait for it.................. Snot Balls. I kid you not. They did market research for a new sweet called vomit drops (seriously - stop mocking this is true). Guess what - apparently it tested badly and they never got it off the line - I wonder why.

No but I do think five dollars is too high a price to pay for pornography.
