Tattoos!
Anyone here got a tattoo, or planning on getting a tattoo? What do you have, or what are you planning on getting? Why? For those without ink, what's your opinion on them? I was once told that a tattoo is the mark of the lower class, though I don't believe that's true. For me, a tattoo is symbol of permanence: a reminder that you can't change the things you've done. So ummm... yeah. Thoughts, ideas, all that good stuff . Pictures welcome!
Cheers!

I've got tattoos... I've got 8, on various body parts; tribals, words, pictures... I used to love tattoos when I was younger. I got my first tattoo when I was 16; I was the only one in my school to be tatted. Some I've done myself, others I've drawn and had done professionally, and others I've left it up to the artist. I haven't gotten a new tattoo since 1996. I've thought about it at times, but it annoys me that tattooing is such a fad these days. Sometimes I think about getting more tattoos, sometimes I wish I could get them all removed, but most of the time it completely slips my mind that I have tattoos.

I'm getting one in January. You have to be 18 in NY even with parental permission and I'm not particularly interested in trying to work my way around that. I'm getting a butterfly on my left shoulder blade. I had a friend design it so it's not like anything I've ever seen before.
I have planned out 5 tats already.

Haven't got one, wouldn't mind one but I don't know if I'd want it forever.

Nobody ever gets a tattoo. It's either none or several.
My theory is that tattoos are addictive.

Eh it is addictive. That being said, the tattoo I have now is pretty big (half-sleeve) and I don't plan on getting any more. I'm glad I got the one I have, and it's something I can cross off my list, but I don't want to become the kind of person who has lots of different things tattooed on their body. I don't mean to offend anyone here, but it's not really my thing. And yeah, I forget it's there half the time .

I've got two: a tribal wolf and a small Celtic cross on my left shoulder blade. I wouldn't mind getting one or two more.

I have two, a numbered bracelet on my ankle and a small lizard on the right side of my lower back. Why? Because they represent important things in my life.

I have a tattoo! A celtic cross on my right shoulder.
I have planned at least a couple more: An oak tree in full summer foliage, a dragon with a sword, and possibly a fairy and an eagle. They all mean something to me and don't have to be huge, but they'll all be on my back. (Best tattoo advice I got: "Get it somewhere that you can, eventually, hide if you want to.")
But I'm not allowed to get any more just yet. Not until I publish something. Deal with the boyfriend.

I have one—a Chinese luck symbol on my ankle—and I'll never get another one. It felt like the guy was sawing my foot off with a dull butcher knife. Seriously.
I am so not pain. At all.

I don't have any, but I love them if done well. I've considered getting one, though with my phobia of needles, fear of permanence, lack of disposible income, and unsurity what I'd want, I doubt I'll ever get one.
