"everything is a conflict"
I would love to share my stories with other writers but I don't want someone to rip off my ideas.
I would also like to share my beliefs but don't want to deal with a barrage of personal attacks.
what is one to do?

Well, you could start by realizing that no one is going to steal your ideas, whether they be utter crap, or the next bestseller. Or you could post in Writer's Workshop.
Then, you should consider your beliefs and how you plan to share them. If it might be in an ofensive way, then watch out, but if it's calmly and collected ly(sp?), then you'll probably be okay.

I try to take others feelings into consideration but rarely sugarcoat anything.
I am guessing if I don't agree with the majority, I will be cast out.

Most of the writers I know have an overabundance of their own ideas and not enough time to work on all of them.

No, you might be argued with, but not cast out.

Don't worry about what other people think. Sounds corny, but once you stop caring, people will stop judging. Make a name for yourself, shout what you have to say to the world.

I don't get this. Why are people so protective of their "ideas?" Isn't how you tell the story the most important thing?

Of course, but authors are paranoid and pretentious and fear for the safety of their minds...

There are very few original ideas in writing these days... that someone would want to protect what they feel to be an original idea is understandable. It's also happened before that pieces were stolen from WF and passed off as the work of someone else. However, the workshop is a protected area, because it is not public, and should someone steal your work, you'd be able to prove it was yours. That said, if your writing is so darn good that you're worried about it being stolen, don't post it here, send it to a publisher. =)
As for posting your ideas and beliefs... go ahead. Nobody here cares what you have to say anyway, unless it presents an opportunity for them to argue with you.

I think I have a few original ideas, but I'm also pretty sure that no one would want to copy them, or would even be able to copy them. Not because I'm special or great, but because the ideas are based on my own life and experiences.
To be able to copy someone's book idea is almost like trying to copy their mind. I don't think it can be done.
That is, unless the idea is "vampires in a laundromat" or something simple like that.

When Eragon finds a polished blue stone in the forest, he thinks it is the lucky discovery of a poor farm boy; perhaps it will buy his family meat for the winter. But when the stone brings a dragon hatchling, Eragon realizes he has stumbled upon a legacy nearly as old as the Empire itself. Overnight his simple life is shattered, and he is thrust into a perilous new world of destiny, magic, and power. With only an ancient sword and the advice of an old storyteller for guidance, Eragon and the fledgling dragon must navigate the dangerous terrain and dark enemies of an Empire ruled by a king whose evil knows no bounds. Can Eragon take up the mantle of the legendary Dragon Riders? The fate of the Empire may rest in his hands. . . .
Er... okay. What's the original idea here? Is it the stone?

If you really wanna know, his books have been dissected numerous times here and elsewhere, and I'm sure you'd have no problem finding out for yourself... to use a one paragraph synopsis as a rebuttal is a bit silly.
