Beowulf, WTF?

Okay, so I am officially not going to the movies anymore.

Has anyone else seen Beowulf yet? And, were you equally as offended as I? I mean, how do you screw up such a classic? How do you manage to make animated characters be bad actors? How do you totally change a story, and americanize it? Can there be no story without a love triangle? And why on earth can we show a naked man running around, but do everything we can not to show his penis. We know it is there! It won't be that interesting so just let us see, eh!?

Sorry, had to vent. I feel like they stole money from me ANd the popcorn tasted gross too.

Haven't seen it yet (hahah - yet - doubt I will) but I figured from the previews that would be the case. I think "talent" must have gone on strike in support of the writers

Oh, and did I mention there were references to Christianity in it....um...wtf!? Can't some things just be left alone!? Is it so hard to believe there was life before the church.

Thanks for giving me a heads up. As a general rule I stay away when old stories are made into movies. Hollywood has a way of turning good stuff into trash.

Sorry about your popcorn. I bet they'll give you a refund.

Tell them you're a famous author.

How's the nano going, btw? I assume that's what we can blame (or thank, in light of comments like that ) for your absence?

Actually, I have not written a word. I have been working non-stop, and trying to spend as much time with a friend, who doesn't have a lot of time left, as I can. But, I am still going to finish NaNo. I work really well under pressure...well, hopefully.

Thanks for asking though.
