Explain your username and avatar
What's the story, if any, behind your member name? What's your avatar about?
My user name is loosely based on "malignant." Since I'm a cancer, I thought it would be appropriate in some way. My avatar is a sunrise because I like mornings.
Or I'm trying to like mornings, because my new job sees me up around 4 am. Blyech!

Clancy is my given name, but also the name of an older frmale cousin. At family gatherings she's "Clancy" and I'm "Clancy Boy."
Goddammit, I got a hand-me-down name :/
My avatar picture thingy is from a popular set of MSN smilies popular in China. He's reading a book, so it's topical, kinda.

I... um... drink a lot of rum. I'm kind of a liquor snob, and I used to keep between 15 and 20 different bottles of rum it in my living room bar at any given time (though lately, I've been more on a scotch kick than rum). First my friends nicknamed me "Top Shelf," which was (and still is, on the occasions that I play) my video game handle. But, since I've always been, ah, sympathic to the piratical way of life, and have a parrot and such, it eventually got switched to Rumrunner, which seemed to fit better and stuck.
My avatar is just a random pic I stole off of photobucket for Hawke's "Dress up for Halloween" thing, and I haven't got around to changing it yet. But I think it kinda suits me, so I may leave it for a while.

I actually thought your name was clancyboy because you were a Tom Clancy fan. Makes sense, doesn't it?
My name is actually a cooler; more snappy way of spelling my last name, and my avatar is just something that catches the eye. But if I had to sling some bull about my avatar I could say that it's a metiphorical picture for the way kids are these days. They're getting more mature at a much earlier age than they did, let's say 10 years ago.

My name just sounds dirty. I'm pretty sure it was a joke on Two and a Half Men, but I can't remember how it went. No avatar because I'm a lazy bastard

You may not have noticed, but I’m not always the sharpest kid on the block.
Many years ago, before I abandoned the human race, a few so-called “friends” would poke fun at me due to certain inborn neurobiological deficiencies.
Also many years ago I acquired what, today, is called a “personalised” number/license plate, for my car. It was ‘XO-001’. (My reason for that particular plate is a story in itself, a story of love and lust and fast cars and jealousy, a story which may one day be told). When I first obtained it, one of my so-called friends saw it on my car and was inspired to comment “The backward ox (XO backwards– get it?) hahahaha. It suits you”.
The cars have come and gone but the plate remained constant. That number plate and I have been down some roads together, I can tell you. Today, because of red tape, it has finally been archived, and now adorns the corner of a shelf in the bookcase.
When I joined WF I had to come up with something significant to me, and there you are. I couldn’t think of anything more apt.
In view of the above, the avatar of course speaks for itself.

I wrote a fantasy role-playing game years ago (it was called The World As Known...or TWAK for short).
In it, the deposed and very evil king of Cidal (a country) is called Shavixmir. I adopted the name for myself so I could trace what I was writing on the internet (I suffer from severe blackouts when I drink bottles of home brewed schnapps from Pforzeim).
The avatar is a photo of a Warhammer model from the flagellant unit which I put through an aquarelic filter.

I'm a writer, so the name is pretty obvious. As for the avatar, I'm a big fan of Dragonlance (fantasy), and the picture is of Laurana, one of my favourite DL characters. Or Lauralanthalasa, as her real name is.

"Non serviam" is Latin. It's from Jeremiah 2:20 and translates to "I will not serve". It's been re-used in literature and popular culture several times--in Joyce, in the Illuminati trilogy, in Stanislaw Lem, by various heavy metal bands, and in the Martin Scorsese film "The Departed", among rather a lot of other allusions.
I chose it because it sums up my religious and political convictions fairly well.
The avatar is a picture of one of my basses.
