If it's not already apparent, then I can't make it that way for you.

I'm trying to give a critique for a short story right now, and I can't do it properly in the dialogue box given here. A lot of correction is needed and so I would like to copy and paste the story into a word document to show corrections better. Maybe it's because I'm not overly familiar with computers, but here, you can only change the colour to indicate correction, not cross things out. Also, if I do the correcting in Word and then copy and paste it back here, there are formating problems and not all the corrections (like colour) show up. So this means I'm kind of limited to working in this cramped dialogue box if I follow the rules. Am I missing something?
I'm not being argumentative here. Is there a better way to post a comprehensive critique here on the forum instead of doing it privately per email?

I read your reply, but Selorian's post pointing out the different kinds of advertising, pertained to some kind of financial gain. All bar one. So I didn't understand how they applied to maia since she doesn't make money out of what she does.

Only one specifically pertained to financial gain, that being the last one. None of the others are exclusive to having to receive money.

This is the only one I thought wasn't directly linked to making money, as maia advertises herself, but makes no money from it.

Offering goods for sale means making money.
In my view they all concern making money except the one about advertising yourself personally.

That's it. Nothing too outrageous, methinks. Putting the offer in the Writers' Resources and/or a signature, is all we've asked.

This is a simple request that was only made after a long discussion. We've already run around these mulberry bushes.
WF members are free to put their websites and blogs in their signature and further information on the Resources forum.
The site has the PM feature so that emailing - and the exchange of private information - is not necessary. Considering how often arguments, rivalries, and grudges tend to occur it is wise if there is no precedent for giving out email to strangers.

If the forum software gives you difficulties with formatting I can see some frustration here. I have had a few mild glitches that were easily overcome so I don't see a problem with posting critiques on WF.
I've also had formatting problems with email. And there is always the fun fact that if you avoid email formatting an send attachments you risk swapping computer viruses.
If you feel you MUST email someone I'd arrange it privately through PM and do not do so until you have a bond of trust with that person. Even then, please be aware that once given that information is out there and not everyone is as they seem.
Maia's link is in her signature. Easy to follow if anyone wants to do so.
Edit: lol...Valeca beat me to it. And said it in fewer words.

Still don't think maia was doing anything terrible, but in the end, I respect that this is not my space, and if the administration asks me to do respect the rules, then I will

IT reeks of maia being told off for doing something wrong, and realizing she is wrong she came to whine to the collective masses for support :/
There are rules, obey them.

I'm totally against advertsiing any services or goods on forums, but if you are looking for a low mileage 1971 Ford Cortina with leather upholstery....

Ha. I'd jump on that offer, pete, but the old man's a die-hard Chrysler fanatic and I fear he'll Oedipal Rex my nuts if i inquire
As for maia, i can only say adieu. Everything else has been covered.

when i read the topic title I was happy because I thought you had joined the Exit organisation. I have no intention of reading that mini novel you posted either, you help people with writing great, but you're a bit full of yourself too since you act like such a supreme helper. This place is just a forum on the net, why act like you fed the poor?
