Typing Mistakes

When I'm typing, I simply can not type the word 'from' without deliberately slowing down and searching out each letter. If I'm on a roll and writing fast, it always comes out as 'form'. The annoying thing is, Word doesn't register it as wrong, so I have to now go back and read through my whole freaking novel to fix the forms and the froms. *insert frustrated screech here*

I guess that's what I get for not learning to type properly. *sigh*

That happens to me though I usually manage to catch it right after I type it wrong.

take heart, Johnna,
you're not the only one in the typing world who inadvertantly transposes letters when typing fast ...

you could train your fingers by typing 100 times:

Free fragile Freddo from frigid and frugal Fridays ...

and:

Formulate formal formica formalae foremost ...

but it's always a good idea to re-read and review your work regularly,
to pick up on the ones that SpellCheck misses ...
or gets wrong (it happens) if you use autocorrect ...

From and form are easy to get wrong when typing too fast. So are to and too, though I've never mixed either up with two.

Those are intimidating exercises, Cran, but I'm going to try them.

Good on you, Johnna ...
you probably won't need the full 100 times ...
try them in blocks of 10 ...
you should get the feel of the finger order for each ...
Left index, Left index, Right ring = fro ...
Left index, Right ring, Left index = for ...
(if you are a "two-finger" typist, then it's LLR = fro; LRL = for ...)

and then to lock in finger order, try a few of:

for frothy form, freeze first and forget force
or
discern form from froth, or fraud from forgery

Good for you, BlackWolf ...

I have seen instances of two mistyped as tow ...
