I feel the need to stop critiquing
It just becomes so ridiculously easy and addictive to critique the work of others. It's actually not so easy but it's a damn side easier than writing
yourself.
My unfinished work just sits there and I really need to push myself to get going. Buggar bum and fuckit. Ugh

There's this thing called time management...
You don't have to stop if you don't really want to, but you should designate writing time.

writing first mate.
I haven't been giving any feedback for the past couple of months.. or year or so or something. It's long enough for me not to remember..
But my 'unfinished works' folder is getting smaller. So ...

I think giving feedback is important to others because I know how important it is to me. I say do both, and make time for both.

I feel that critiquing, for myself, would be somewhat hypocritical, as I don't feel I am a good enough writer myself to cast aspersions on others, whereas, morally, I feel I should, as others have critiqued mine.

Critiquing isn't about being a writer. It's about being a reader. And most people are better with the latter than the former.

Yes, and there is nothing wrong with it. I wonder where the world would be going with everyone enaged in just writing her/his own ideas down unaware of the thousands of other books waiting to be read and reviewed!

Yes you may, I can be a critic and pretend I know what I'm talking about.
Although I'd prefer to be a food critic and travel the world getting fat!
