The Death Of Tony Wilson
I've only just found out he died from Richard & Judy. Shit!
I was never quite sure about him, but its quite shocking.

Haha he was actually good friends with them.
That must have been painful for him.

Heard of Joy Division? New Order? 80's Manchester music scene? He invented it.

Tony Wilson was a pop empresario, journalist, broadcaster, record label owner who put Britain’s second city on the map, whose fame obviously didn’t spread across the Atlantic, and he died recently at the age of 57 in Manchester.
That cold stretch of water between our two countries really is a big divide, and I suppose that many British people have never heard of Jerry Springer either (just a random example).
Richard and Judy are famous (in Britain) TV hosts who have recently publicised books which have then sold like hotcakes, just like Oprah . . . and I’m sure most British people have never heard of Oprah either . . .
This globalisation doesn’t seem to be working, what are we searching the internet for? Sadly I think I know the answer. I think both our citizens know Arnold Schwarzenegger, from The Terminator and not his current job.

Ah. Well thank God it's nothing I have to worry about.
Let me know if anything happens to Benny Hill.

May he rest in peace. He brought so many good bands to the world...however any time I think of him I always think of Steve Coogan, who gave a quite 'Alan Partridge' performance of him in '24 Hour Party People'.

Yes, good film. Not sure about the Coogan performance though.
The Durutti Column are a fine band. Cheers Tony.

Do you mean you think Coogan did well or he didn't? I think he did as good as Coogan could do, but like I said, Coogan will always be Alan Partridge in my eyes, and don't think he was the best choice. But like you said, a good film none the less.

Its not really Coogan. I just think the humour could of been a little darker and I felt as if the writers were taking the piss out of Manchester at times.
