Starting a club...?
I would very much like to, after the summer holiday, begin a little 'club' with some pple from school, doing some (British) comedy &cetera.

Does anyone have any experience with this, as to how to make sure it really happens and not just people saying they'll join but then, in the end, don't?

Just get some friends and start doing it. Once you begin, it shouldn't be too hard to get others to join.
