Mac or PC?

Yeah, I'm just sitting online bored out of my mind (trying to think of a new idea for a story), and I was just wondering: how many of you use or prefer Macs, and how many PCs? Please post!

I, personally, love Macs! Always did, and I just got one, so I love them 10x more!

I prefer PC's because I'm a cheap bastard.

Depends on what you'll use it for. I just got a Mac and it works wonders with Photoshop and Illustrator (I'm studying graphic design) and it's compatible with most hardware. PC was good, but I ran out of memory like three times using the same programs.

I'm a pure number cruncher, I use Excel for everything (databasing all my notes and information for school, finances, and work seems to be a hobby)... PC for me.

you just need a basic text editor to write but I have a mac and prefer it for
the ease of use and video editing. Plus macs don't attract bugs so much but
then the imac range may as well be pc with the mac interface.

Do you really believe what computer you use will help you with writing?

Macs, have used them since 1984-5. Love that I can receive email and open it without worrying about what new virus will hit me.

No one said anything about the computer helping along your writing.

I love my Mac to death.

I have never tried a mac, but I am seriously considering getting a Mac for my next computer. My brother loaded vista on his computer, it is complete crap.

for straight writing, a pc is best, imo... for fancy other stuff, some may prefer macs... i started on a mac and loved then, but soon found that if i wanted to do serious writing and submitting, i needed to switch to a pc... been using dells for years now and wouldn't want anything else...

btw, blackthorn... what the bleep is wrong with your cursive or print thread?... when i click on it, the thing comes up weird, with no way to reply...

hugs, m

There is absolutely no reason why you couldn't use a Mac for "serious writing and submitting." All major publishing and word processing applications are available for both systems and saved documents will work on both types of machines.

My "cursive or print" thread is messed up? Really?....Oh, yeah....I'll post it again....Sorry...

So far, it looks like Macs are killin' PCs!

Mammanaia, can't you do serious writing and submitting just as well with a Mac? I don't see why you couldn't use Macs for exactly the same thing. As far as 3rd party applications/programs go, Macs have almost all or similar programs PCs do.

I've used Macs, but I much prefer PC. Macs are excellent for graphic programs, but there's no real need to buy a Mac outside for that reason.

What about virus protection? Almoest all viruses are made to attack PCs, not Macs. This is mainly because viruses and spyware are .exe programs. Macs can't run exes.

Virus problem solved.
