If you have never heard of it, then don't freaking rate it. Heartwork gets a 10.

Meh. 6/10
"And When He Falleth"
Theatre of Tragedy
(I'm willing to bet that if anyone knows this song or band it's Kane, and he won't like it)

Off Topic:
I love these threads. When I get bored I sample a bunch of the artists I've never heard of and try to find new music to listen to.

As an mp3 hoarder, I was impressed by the almost immediate compulsion, quite irresistable, to purge said download from my system. I don't really think I need put a number on it.
Specially for you Hodge, Kool and the Gang's Play That Funky Music White Boy.

You have to listen to the song all the way through and shed not only the mainstream craptastic music mentality, but also the typical clean vocal mentality. Really, Liv Kristine has such an angelic voice, and the interlude from the 1964 movie The Masque of the Red Death (based on Poe's short story) is quite stirring.
Play that funky music? It's funky, I'll give it that. 8/10.
"Evergreen"
Mostly Autumn
If you don't like THIS band, I'll have to question whether you really live in England!

Oh, she was certainly angelic. I was enjoying it just fine until the guy took it into his head to unleash some of what he probably imagined to be 'juxtaposition'. Warmer with your last choice. Overbearing synth was a bit much for me but for a first listen I didn't half mind it. I'll give it a charitable 7.
In a passingly similar vein, Chris Isaac's Wicked Game...

I LOVE that song!
10/10
Mostly Autumn is a primo prog-rock act in the 70's vein with heavy Celtic influence. Magnifico.
"Blackest Eyes"
Porcupine Tree
(another primo prog act, but without the Celtic influence and decidedly twisted)
