You totally set that up so someone would say, "don't we already have that?"
Macgyver would so be a good president. Did you see the series in its later run? They could have renamed it Macgyver: Social Worker. Plus, he'd be able to fix the problems with our bureacracy with nothing more than a can of RAID, some needle nosed pliers, and a big plastic bag.
The only problem with him in office would be, of course, Murdoc. He just won't stay dead!
