Movie Previews / Advertising

What experiences have you had with this? Anyone ever start a change like on the Simpsons? I live in a small town = short previews and no advertising. It's awesome.

When I visit my Dad in Vancouver, I am horrified. Commericials for things like hair products are being advertised. I payed the excessive ticket and concession prices to see a movie, not commercials, but what can I do? I timed the commercials and previews (I don't mind these, but, still, I payed to see a movie and can search the net for upcoming flicks), and they were 25 minutes. 25 minutes! This was awhile ago, but I am bored and decided to start this thread. Anyway, for me, as impatient as I am, this is a big deal. To others it might be commonplace. Thoughts?

Personally, I *love* all the previews. =] As for all of the commercials, I see them at home on my TV so I HATE that I have to sit through them AGAIN at the movies. Especially the car commercials! The last thing I am thinking about when I go to watch a movie is buying a new car. lolol

Now my theatre shows something called "The Thirty", or something like that. It's this thirty min. show that gives previews on 4 things. Like a new TV show, a new car, behind the scenes on a movie, and so on. I HATE it. What ever happened to just playing the radio while people were sitting down?!?!?!?!

I live in a quaint little town right next to Canada, and our movie theater is about twenty years behind the industry standard. And it's very, very, very unsanitary (I should know—I worked there for a year and a half).

We have a stupid slide show thing on the screen while they play muzak in the background. And no commercials—only movie trailers.
