3rd person narrative

Why is it so difficult? Difficult--I mean impossible! It is easy enough for short stories, but how can any of you stand to do it for a novel? I've written and deleted and repeated about 5 times for the first page until I got to the point of "Fug it I'm making it an epistolatory." Is it just me or does writing flow better when it is through a character's eyes?

Anime again?

D, If you had even a modicum of common sense or talent you'd know that 3rd person is the only way to write, and that all those people out there writing in 1st person are just try hards.

Most of them are safely locked away where they won't harm anyone.

Seriously, though, if you would like to look at some of Mr. Brie's stuff, go to the advanced search box. Type "The Shipwreck" in the keyword box and "Talia_Brie" in the author box. Make sure you read Chapter 3. It revolves around a cool board game called Citadels that Mr. Brie came up with for his novel. His writing is really good and it just keeps getting better.

Drzava: It's the opposite for me. I love writing in third but I find attempting anything longer than a few thousand words in first to be difficult. I'm still trying though. If I don't attempt new things every so often, my writing will become stale (if it isn't already).

And Drzava, like Daniela it's the opposite for me. I love writing in third too, and probably wouldn't be able to keep up too much of a story in first person. I've done a couple of short stories in first, but that's probably the most I'll ever write in that POV.
