Depends upon the demographics of your character. I mean, names suitable for a schoolkid, or for a 70 year old man?
Names like Garry, Brian and Andrew can - when paired up with the right surname - have a nerdy ring to them. For first names, I think two-syllables is the way to go. Don't ask me why, I just consider one-syllable names "slick" and three-or-more syllables to be "ritzy and classy". Maybe that's just me. As for last names, often surnames using colours are effective.
eg: Brian Brown or Andrew Grey.

Bear in mind that you will be instantly despised by the majority of the world, though.

Heh, I like Lawrence. Maybe Barny instead of Barbabus, though? That sounds less religious-sounding. Well, to me at least.

There's a boy in my class called Lawrence Castle-Herbert.. I always thought that was a really geeky name or just really posh.

Oh, THAT has got to be the most perfectly horrible name in history. Poor fellow. There's nothing wrong with each name, but put them all together, and by golly you've got a killer.
Gothpunkweirdo - I think you've got your answer
