Doesn't Highschool suck....

....ass? (excuse my language) Trust me -- those of you who are out of high school should be GLAD you will never relive the experience again. It might not be true for some kids, but all of the "popular" kids (including the soccer jerks, slut girls....etc) are big jackasses and skanky biatches. Today in our NHS induction, they were whispering and talking behind people's backs...and then I guess they noticed me (they're all friends with the dumbass who ran for president and won) and one guy said:

Guy: Hi, my name is Casey.

Me: Hi, I'm Amanda.

Guy: Nice to meet you.

Me: Nice to meet you too.

Of course this was all going on in my voice filled with terseness and tension, and they knew...I made it clear. They all turned around and snickered to themselves...I wanted to sock all of them in the face and pull one girl's bleached blonde hair right out of her roots. The reason why I was so angry was because they were making fun of everyone who wasn't "at their level" -- outfits, way they laughed, the way they looked..

GROW UP!!! I WISH HIGH SCHOOL WASN'T THE WAY IT IS..but it is.

Trust me. Youth is wasted on the young.

As with these forums, you get out of it what you put into it. A day doesn't pass that I don't wish I were that age again.

Tell me about it. To not have to worry about looking after anyone but yourself? Give me high school back any day! Not that I don't love my kids of course....

Sorry didn't mean to sound like patronising old lady then.
As I recall I couldn't wait to get out of high school and show all those idiots. As it is, those same people exist when you leave school too. Its just as you get older I think you find yourself caring less what they think.

Ok, back.

At this age, I'm sure all of you have known what it at least felt like to live in the world of high school at one point in your life. All of the back stabbing, rumors, gossip...I don't think it's worth it, but it's practically unavoidable. As for all of you who are older (possibly with children) I guess I can understand why you'd want to relive high school....but for us, we're just waiting for the day when that last bell rings, and then we're home free.

I'm in High School, but I learned to be indifferent quite awhile ago. Perhaps you should learn the art of nonchalance, too?

I'm with Dooga on this one. I am definitely indifferent and I am blessed with friends just like me! We don't care and we do whatever we want and I think the rest of the people have learned to pretty much leave us alone. I have more fun when I don't care.

Yes, I have also learned to stop caring. Then again, the lines of populararity are so distorted and washed out they practically do not exist at my school. Every time I see a movie or a TV show with high school in it, I struggle to think of a real school that operates like that.

My mommy says they exist. I go to sleep happy that I don't go to one.

Geez.

All of the back stabbing, rumors, gossip...
When I was in high school, I withstood ostracizing, regular beatings, extortion, theft and destruction/defacement of my belongings, and more. What's your point? You seem to be complaining about people talking behind your back. So people gossip about you. And how does that give you license to call your fellow classmates "big jackasses and skanky biatches"? I'm getting a "I was victimized so I'm superior to those who victimized me" vibe from you.

Greyhall's cryptic post carries a point. For this kind of outburst, go vent it in some blog or LiveJournal and spare us the angst.

So what if they gossip? If that's all it takes to blow you up like this and get you feeling all uppity and superior to your peers, you haven't got a chance in hell of lasting in the real world unless you seduce some rich wo/man so you can leech off of her/him.

You've got "You must learn from failure in order to succeed" in your signature. Is it just there for eye candy? Follow your own advice and learn from your failure to earn their respect.

Grow up, will you?

High School > Work

I miss all my high school memories...skipping, going out to lunch, leaving early, driving in the senior parade, girls everywhere I miss highschool soooo much! Believe me, I thought school sucked then too, but when you get out into the real world, you loose touch with friends, you work your ass off for some boss who could care less about you as a person.

Some of you could chill out. This is a vent, take it as such, and let Amanda feel relieved she could get this off her chest.
