What do you write on?

Paper? Stone tablet? Computer (desktop/laptop/brand?)

I just got a Dell i6000 and couldn't be happier. I switched from a bigger HP laptop that was just to heavy. I think I need to turn off the wireless during my "writing time" though because I find myself...um...posting instead!

What's your preference?

I write on the old Spiral Notebook by day, and by night I write on an eMac.

I have one of those nice moleskin notebooks, a five star notebook, and anything that happens to be handy when an idea hits (usually at work where I'll grab a napkin or a mail routing slip).

When I'm home I write on my computer, which is a 2002 eMac.

I used to write on the asylum walls, but they gave me a computer after finding out it disturbed the others.

I tend to do longhand first drafts, and edit as I type it up - that way, I've got two definate drafts. During on screen editing, which draft is which can become a little blurry. So now I copy the document into a new one when I decide it's time for a new draft.

That answered the qu and then got off track. Sorry.

I switch between my Dell DIM2100 and a binder full of paper. For outlines, notes, and working out scenes I am having trouble with I prefer the binder but the bulk of the actual story is written on the comp.

I wish I had a laptop but any money I get in the near future is going into maintaining the computer I already have. After that, we'll see.

I typically write it in a composition book, spiral, or just a blank peice of paper. I then do my re-write when I type it.

Usually my computer, but when it's unavailable I prefer my Big Chief writing tablet. It's old-school .

I have notebook where I write down ideas and draw rough pictures for characters or settings, and if I am struggling writing on the labtop I go to the notebook. I just hate that becuase then I have to type it up.

Bleh. I don't like taking notes on computers or paper... On paper I can't go back and respace everything if I need to make more space, and computers are just a hassle for notes because I can't draw diagrams or switch from one page to another with ease.
