    Replica / Sonata Arctica

I'm home again, I won the war, and now I am behind
your door. I tried so hard to obey the law, see the
meaning of it all. Remember me Before the war.
I'm the man who lived next door. Long ago...

As you can see, when you look at me, I'm pieces of
what I used to be. It's easier if you don't see me
standing on my own two feet. I'm taller when I sit
here still, you ask are all my dreams fulfilled.
They made me a heart of steal, the kind them bullets
    cannot see

Nothing's what it seems to be,
    I'm a replica, I'm a replica
    Empty shell inside of me
I'm not myself, I'm a replica of me...

The light is green, my slate is clean, new life to fill
the hole in me. I had no name, last December, Christmas
    Eve I can't remember. I was in a constant pain, I saw
your shadow in a rain. I painted all your pigeons red,
I wish I had stayed home instead.

Nothing's what it seems to be,
    I'm a replica, I'm a replica
    Empty shell inside of me
I'm not myself, I'm a replica of me...

Are you gonna leave me now, when it is all over
Are you gonna leave me, is my world now over...

Raising from the place I've been, and trying to keep
my home base clean. Now I'm here and won't go back believe.

I fall asleep and dream a dream, I'm floating in a
silent scream. No-one placing blame on me
But nothing's what it seems to be, yeah.

Nothing's what it seems to be,
    I'm a replica, I'm a replica
    Empty shell inside of me
I'm not myself, I'm a replica of me...

lyrics to a decent song by My Dying Bride.

    FOR MY FALLEN ANGEL

As I draw up my breath,
    And silver fills my eyes.
    I kiss her still,
    For she will never rise.

    On my weak body,
    Lays her dying hand.
    Through those meadows of Heaven,
    Where we ran.

Like a thief in the night,
    The wind blows so light.
    It wars with my tears,
That won't dry for many years.

    "Loves golden arrow
    At her should have fled,
    And not Deaths ebon dart
    To strike her dead."

THIRTEEN AUTUMNS AND A WIDOW by Cradle of Filth

Spawned wanton like blight on an auspicious night
Her eyes betrayed spells of the moon's eerie light
A disquieting gaze forever ghosting far seas
Bled white and dead, Her true mother was fed
to the ravenous wolves that the elements led
From crag-jagged mountains that seemingly grew in unease.

Through the maw of the woods, a black carriage was drawn
Flanked by barbed lightning that hissed of the storm
(Gilded in crests of Carpathian breed)
Bringing slaves to the sodomite for the new-born
On the eve when the Countess' own came deformed
A tragedy crept to the name Bathory

Elizabeth christened, no paler a rose
Grew so dark as this sylph
    None more cold in repose
    Yet Her beauty spun webs
Round hearts a glance would betroth

    She feared the light
So when She fell like a sinner to vice
    Under austere, puritanical rule
    She sacrificed....
Mandragora like virgins to rats in the wall
But after whipangels licked prisoners, thralled
Never were Her dreams so maniacally cruel
    (And possessed of such delights)
For ravens winged Her nightly flights
    Of erotica
    Half spurned from the pulpit
    Torments to occur
Half learnt from the cabal of demons
    In Her
    Her walk went to voodoo
To see Her own shadow adorned
    At mass without flaw
    Though inwards She abhored
    Not Her coven of suitors
But the stare of their Lord

"I must avert mine eyes to hyms
For His gaze brings dogmas to my skin
He knows that I dreamt of carnal rites
With Him undead for three long nights."

    Elizabeth listened
    No sermons intoned
Dragged such guilt to Her door
Tombed Her soul with such stone
For She swore the Priest sighed
When She knelt down to atone...

    She feared the light
    So when She fell
    Like a sinner to vice
    Under austere, puritanical rule
    She sacrificed
    Her decorum as chaste
To this wolf of the cloth
    Pouncing to haunt
    Her confessional box
    Forgiveness would come
When Her sins were washed off
    By rebaptism in white...

The looking glass cast Belladonna wreaths
'Pon the grave of Her innocence
    Her hidden face spat murder
From a whisper to a scream
    All sleep seemed cursed
    In Faustian verse
    But there in orgiastic Hell
    No horrors were worse
    Than the mirrored revelation
That She kissed the Devil's phallus
    By Her own decree

So with windows flung wide to the menstrual sky
Solstice Eve She fled the castle in secret
A daughter of the storm, astride Her favorite nightmare
    On winds without prayer
Stigmata still wept between Her legs
A cold bloodedness which impressed new hatreds
    She sought the Sorceress
Through the snow and dank woods to the sodomite's lair

Nine twisted fates threw hewn bone die
    For the throat of Elizabeth
Damnation won and urged the moon
    In soliloquy to gleam
    Twixt the trees in shafts
    To ghost a path
Past the howl of buggered nymphs
    In the sodomite's grasp
    To the forest's vulva
    Where the witch scholared Her
    In even darker themes

    Amongst the philtres and melissas
Midst the grease of strangled men
    And eldritch truths, elder ill-omen
    Elizabeth came to life again

And under lacerations of dawn She returned
Like a flame unto a deathshead
    With a promise to burn
    Secrets brooded as She rode
Through mist and marsh to where they showed
Her castle walls wherein the restless
    Counted carrion crows

She awoke from a fable to mourning
Church bells wringing Her madly from sleep
Tolled by a priest, self castrated and hung
Like a crimson bat 'neath the belfry
    The biblicaled prattled their mantras
    Hexes six-tripled their fees
But Elizabeth laughed, thirteen Autumns had passed
And She was a widow from god and His wrath, finally....

Lyrics to my favorite song, "Dare", by Stan Bush...

Sometimes when your hopes have all been shattered,
    there's nowhere to turn.
You wonder how you keep going
Think of all the things that really matter,
    and the chances you've earned.
The fire in your heart is growing
You can fly if you try leaving the past behind.
Heaven only knows what you might find.

    Dare
Dare to believe you can survive.
You hold the future in your hand.
    Dare
Dare to keep all your dreams alive.
It's time to take a stand.
You can win if you dare.

Everybody's trying to break your spirit,
    keeping you down.
    Seems like it's been forever
There's another voice if you'll just hear it,
    saying it's the last time
Looks like it's now or never.
Out of the darkness you stumble into the light.
Fighting for the things you know are right.

    Dare.
Dare to believe you can survive.
The power is there at your command.
    Dare.
Dare to keep all your dreams alive.
It's time to take a stand.
You can win if you dare.

    Dare.
Dare to believe you can survive.
You hold the future in your hand.
    Dare.
Dare to keep all your dreams alive.
The power is there at your command.
    Oh! Dare.
Dare to keep all your love alive.
Dare to be all that you can be.
    Dare.
There is a place where dreams survive.
It's calling you on to victory
    Dare.
    Dare.

As fare as my favorite lyrics go, I'd have to say it would be "Dumb", written by the great Kurt Cobain....:

I'm not like them, but I can pretend
The sun is gone, but I have a light
The day is done, but I'm having fun
I think I'm dumb, or maybe just happy

    Think I'm just happy (x3)

My heart is broke, but I have some glue
help me inhale, and mend it with you
We'll float around, and hang out on clouds
Then we'll come down, and I have a hangover

    Have a hangover (x4)

    Skin the sun
    Fall asleep
    Wish away
    The soul is cheap
    Lesson learned
    Wish me luck
    Soothe the burn
    Wake me up

I'm not like them, but I can pretend
The sun is gone, but I have a light
The day is done, but I'm having fun
I think I'm dumb, or maybe just happy

    Think I'm just happy (x3)

    I think I'm dumb (x12)

    i beat my machine
    it's a part of me
    it's inside of me
    i'm stuck in this dream
    it's changing me
    i am becoming

the me that you know he had some second thoughts
he's covered with scabs he is broken and sore
the me that you know he doesn't come around much
that part of me isn't here anymore

    all pain disappears
    it's the nature of
    of my circuitry
    drowns out all i hear
    there's no escape from this
    my new consciousness

the me that you know he used to have feelings
but the blood has stopped pumping and he is left to decay
the me that you know is now made up of wires
and even when i'm right with you i'm so far away

i can try to get away but i've strapped myself in
i can try to scratch away the sound in my ears
i can see it killing away all of my bad parts
i don't want to listen but it's all too clear

    hiding backwards inside of me
    i feel so unafraid
    annie, hold a little tighter
    i might just slip away

it won't give up it wants me dead
and goddamn this noise inside my head
it won't give up it wants me dead
and goddamn this noise inside my head
it won't give up it wants me dead
and goddamn this noise inside my head
it won't give up it wants me dead
and goddamn this noise inside my head
it won't give up it wants me dead
and goddamn this noise inside my head
it won't give up it wants me dead
and goddamn this noise inside my head
it won't give up it wants me dead
and goddamn this noise inside my head
it won't give up it wants me dead
and goddamn this noise inside my head

Iron Maiden - Afraid to Shoot Strangers: (Something quite recently relevant, too...)

    Lying awake at night,
I wipe the sweat from my brow
But it's not from fear, 'cause I'd rather go now.
Trying to visualise the horrors that will lay ahead,
The desert sand mouds are burial grounds.

When it comes to the time are we partners in crime?
When it comes to the time are we ready to die?

Lord, let us go now and finish what's to be done,
    Thy kingdom come,
Thy shall be done, (On earth)
Trying to justify to ourselves the reasons to go

Should we live and let live?
    Forget or forgive?

But how can we let them go on this way?
The reign of terror, corruption must end,
and we know deep down there's no other way.
No trust, no reasoning, no more to say.

    Afraid to shoot strangers.
I'll sing along, yeah with every emergency. Just sing along, I'm the king of catastrophies. I'm so far gone that deep down inside I think it's fine by me that I'm my own worst enemy.

Actually, my favorite lyrics would have to be to "The Star Spangled Banner"

But other than that, it would be:

    Sick Cycle Carousel
    by Lifehouse

If shame had a face I think it would kind of look like mine
If it had a home would it be my eyes
Would you believe me if I said I'm tired of this
Well here we go one more time

I tried to climb Your steps
I tried to chase You down
I tried to see how low I could get down to the ground
I tried to earn my way
I tried to tame this mind
You better believe I'm trying to beat this

So, when will this end it goes on and on
And over and over and over again
    Keep spinning around
I know that it won't stop till I step down from this for good

I never thought I'd end up here
I never thought I'd be standing where I am
I guess I kind of thought it would be easier than this
I guess I was wrong now one more time

I tried to climb Your steps
I tried to chase You down
I tried to see how low I could get down to the ground
I tried to earn my way
I tried to tame this mind
You better believe I'm trying to beat this

So, when will this end it goes on and on
And over and over and over again
    Keep spinning around
I know that it won't stop till I step down from this

    Sick cycle carousel
This is a sick cycle, yeah

So, when will this end it goes on and on
And over and over and over again
    Keep spinning around
I know that it won't stop till I step down from this for good

My bro has the soundtrack, I just put the MP3 on my computer along with "The Touch." I like to think having a real copy of the soundtrack in the household justifies the downloads.

I think I have seen that movie more than any other movie ever, except maybe Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It would be close. Both are classic.
