McCain suspends his campaign...

and runs from the debates. The sheer stupidity of this guy amazes me. What is Obama going to do? Debate by himself?

If he does, he's even more stupid than McCain... How in god's sake is the President of Iran smarter than both of these candidates.

Any plan to qualify any of these statements? Like why/how McCain is suspending his campaign and why/how the president of Iran is smarter than both candidates?

When I read this stuff from you I always imagine you sitting alone in a room talking out loud to yourself and waving your arms around in the air.

LOL-don't be too hard on the boy. I won't for I was the same way, way back then. I was even a McGovern delegate, the lone delegate in a County that was 95% Republican. I'm sure I sat in a room alone and waved my arms in frustration.

I did a little searching(thanks google news) I found a few articles on this debate business.

The first is from the Cristian Science Monitor. The article states that McCain wants to delay the debates to "return to Washington to focus on the nation’s financial problems" in a similar move to when he pushed back parts of the Republican Convention because of Hurricane Gustav. The main focus of the piece is whether or not this is a good move for John Wayne McCain, as he hasn't been able to clearly define his position on the matter, other than to say Fat Cats a great deal.

The second is from the Miami Herald. Here they focus on the two campaigns working together on the "bail out crisis". It's pretty short, so it wont take you long to read.

I would be interested to see what happens here. If Bush, McCain, and Obama did agree to some sort of joint conference I would be throughouly surprised and pleased.

Has anyone considered the possibility that they're all the same person? Just trolling you with various masks?

That's why they can't debate, they can't be seen together because there's only one.

This is completely ridiculous. Just a few days ago (literally) Mccain was saying that the economy was sound and now he wants march on up to Washington and solve the crisis?

Some might say that a Senator actually doing some of the work he was elected to do is better than spending his entire time running for President.

Some might say that, but more than likely, they all sat around and considered strategies that would best resonate with voters. The spin you've put on it is the message they thought would play best, and that's why the decision was made.

He's been running weak in the poles on the economy, so he figured a move like this might help. It's nothing more.

Hard to say how people interpret it.
"Running from debate" with Obama, for instance, is pretty silly.

What I'm saying is, it's hard to speak to hard against somebody for doing their job.

Oh, I agree. But that's what Obama is saying more or less -- big surprise.

The last I read was that the Democratic majority in Congress would prefer the two Presidential candidates not come riding into Washington with their flags flying. But the minority is a fish of a different odor- they want somebody to take, at least part of, the blame for the vote. Especially for later when we're shown the criminal activities which lead to the collapse.

Anyway, I got a brand new wagon to haul my potatoes. And I bought a new hat while my money was still worth something.

What happens if McCain's campaign sends in Sarah Palin to debate Barack Obama?

That would be hilarious--a circus. Would Obama accept? Yes or no?

I guess I'm not supposed to say this since I'm a mentor, but you're a real knucklehead.

When your country is about to spend $700 billion on your failing economy, and its your job that you get payed to do to help with the crises, are you gonna be a jackass and say "Oh that's unimportant, Ive got to win votes! Thats so much more important!" Or are you going to say "Im gonna to my job and try to help the nation Im hoping to lead AND hopefully win votes in the process." Obama apparently considers his senator position pretty unimportant, and apprently worries more about a debate than his nation. This from the guy most people believe is going to help the economy most.

If you wanna help the fricken economy GO DO YOUR JOB!

The Palin/Biden debate should be more fun anyway. If anybody can get a word in edgewise with old Motormouth, it'd be her.
