Well, thank you, sir. Ms. Meyer probably doesn't thank you but whatever. I'm all for a thread on the definition of sexy. I suspect some of it would be embarrassing to the writer but okay

Indeed. But one must speak the truth if one is able.

One can always hope so. See this thread where the idea is discussed as it pertains specifically to sf writers.
But there's a difference between the TRUTH and "the truth the way I see it", and some folks just can't cotton on to that distinction.

Well I have to agree with that. There is a definite distinction there, I agree. That's why I always say IN MY OPINION when I'm giving my opinion. that way I don't say it as though it's fact.

No one can really be sure of anything though. We only have a sense of truth in what we can see, hear and smell (taste and touch to a lesser sense). If it comes from someone else, there is always going to be connotations and biases regardless of their conscientious intention.

Bias is a natural part of human lifestyle... it's just something that is going to happen.

You can lose the sense of something by overqualification. If you qualify everything, then you can't see who has the eyes and the cranial wherewithal to make sense of what you're trying to get at. I would just as soon not say "in my opinion" as almost everything I write is necessarily filtered through my perceptions anyhow. Bias is just the stuff sewn into the upper seam of your undies to keep them up.

I agreed with you moderan until the underwear reference. Didn't really get that.
And thank you for defining "qualify" and using "wherewithal" in the same sentence. I've never felt patronized and belittled by one sentence before. Well done.

It's the truth, not even the truth as I see it. That's the name of the elastic textile product that's sewn into the waistband-bias. If you go to the domestics department of a store they have it in neat little packages. It's also a line diagonal to the grain of a fabric ; especially : a line at a 45 degree angle to the selvage often utilized in the cutting of garments for smoother fit.

I'm fairly sure there's been a gay one somewhere (if nothing else in slash fanfic)
My guys aren't going to be the ones to 'break the mold' though. Just the thought makes them squirm...

Haven't you read Anne Rice? Lestat lives with and loves first Nicki and then Louis...although he does get with his mother in between those two.
