Daniel Craig as Bond
I've heard countless debates on whether the new take on Bond works and if Daniel Craig was a good choice. I remain quite adamant that he was/is a great choice and that the new take on the whole Bond thing is much more realistic than its many predecessors.
My opinion though. What do you guys think?

I've seen a few Bond movies over the years, but Casino Royale is the only one I've enjoyed and Quantum of Solace is the only one I've been looking forwards to. Not saying it's because of Daniel Craig, but I like him as Bond.

I hate the new bond... Bond in my mind will always be the playboy charming spy with style.. and with all the funky gadgets. Realism isn't bond.. it's something else.

I couldn't watch Casino Royale. I got about ten minutes into it and turned it off. Daniel Craig doesn't look at all like Fleming's description of Bond. Neither did Connery or Moore or Dalton. Pierce Brosnan came closest.
I'd rather read the books.

moderan, I suggest you watch the chase scene, at least.
Pierce Brosnan is by far the most "accurate" Bond I've seen, but that's one reason why I don't like Bond in the first place.

I hated all the other bond movies, but the new ones with Daniel Craig are awesome. I can't wait to see Quantum of Solace.

Connery and Moore were good, Brosnan nailed it but the movies were sub-par. Craig is a good "re-interpretation" as the character, but the movie itself is what got me enthused about the series again. Definitely the best Bond movie, although I look back fondly on the old ones.

Brosnan is bond, like someone before me said, bond is the charming spy womanizer gadgeman thinger, not reality. If bond has anything near reality I'd have signed on for double 0 status long ago.
The new bond movies are a mix of hip hop/Hollywood's culture, horrible card games(really, me and a few poker aficionado friends face rolled quite a few times) and parkour. It's entertaining, but bond? no.

You do know Casino Royale is based on the book? The card-part is quite important. It's even right there in the title. What do you think people do at casinos?

Connery is THE Bond, I'd say.
Funny though, Fleming always saw him as a faceless functionary. Maybe a zero like John Cusack or something. Or a less handsome Brosnan. His first reaction to Connery was "How can 007 be this great, craggy Scot?" but he grew to like Connery's depiction.

Malone, since you became a mentor have you changed your formality of writing? it just seems... different...
Oh, and I liked Daniel Craig. I liked Casino Royale. I liked Pierce Brosnan. Sean Connery was... OK.
Would like to see Quantum of Solaice (seriously can't be fu**** to scroll down and check the spelling...)

Brosnan is like the Lord of the Rings movies by Peter Jackson. He "gets" Bond and fits the character perfectly accodring to the books, but what works in a book doens't always work in a movie.

Criag has the look that we've all been waiting for I think. He actually LOOKS like a killer; like a guy that you'd think twice about fucking with. He also has that suave demeanor that works well with the ladies. And he aint bad looking. People tend to get too caught up with the "womanizing" aspect of Bond so they all want some brit with dark hair and chiseled good looks. When it comes down to those characteristics alone, both Brosnan, Moore and Connery pull that off splendidly. But Craig shows that there is much more to the character than boyish good looks and a flattering tongue.
Craig is definately the Bond for the 21st century.

I like Craig, he's okay, but my favorite has always been Timothy Dalton.License To Kill is by far my favorite James Bond movie.
My least favorite is Roger Moore.I hate him as Bond, but he's in the most movies, I think.
I'm looking forward to seeing the new Bond movie.
