We learned about Curitiba, Brazil in my environmental science class because it is one of the leading cities of the world in eco-friendly development. This is a city where they teach little children in schools about their responsibilities toward the environment.
For those that may not know, Brazil like the United States is a geographically large country with diverse climates across its nation-state. Curitiba is a city with a colder climate than the tropical cities of Rio de Janeiro or Salvador. Curitiba unlike those other two cities is also a mostly white populated city.
