The Baby Borrowers
Anyone seen this show?
For those who don't know, it features five teenage couples, most of whom have at least one partner who want babies or feel they should have them (there's only one couple who's there for a different reason, I believe; they're testing their relationship). Anyway, they have to take care of children for awhile, without help. Oh, the parents watch through monitors and are free to intervene at any time, and there are professional nannies there in case of an emergency, but other than that, they're on their own. They start with babies, then move onto toddlers, then pre-teens, teenagers, and finally the elderly. They just showed the teenage episode tonight.
According to the producer, the point is to make young couples really think about whether or not they want (and can handle) children. Given all the pro-pregnancy media (Juno, Jamie Lynn Spears, etc), he wanted to show a more realistic view.
It's rather amusing. I don't have children and know I'm not ready for them now, but just from common sense and babysitting, I know it's not a walk in the park, which is what some of them seemed to think it was going to be. It's my mother's new favorite show; she watches it religiously. I think she and my father bond over it actually.
So, anyone else like it? It doesn't seem to have a large fan-base, from what I can tell.

Normally I don't either. I rarely watch TV in general, actually. I caught the last 15 minutes of the first baby episode when I was flipping through channels in a hotel; it occurred to me that my mother would like it. She wanted me to watch it with her, so I did. Now it's a bit of a tradition.

They having any luck on the show? Changing people (so much as one can; painting new masks, really) seems to be a rather hard task.

No, I haven't and I wouldn't. Anyway, I'll be generous enough to give someone and idea FOR FREE: do the experiment with all those good for nothing that have the intention to run for office (we'd be their children, of course).

No idea, today was the first time I've seen it. The guys seem willing to change though; from what reality tv I've seen they're a fairly mature bunch.
