3D Star Wars...The Good Ones
Footage of test runs at the 3-D transformation of EPISODE IV (I believe it was) were screened at ShowWest a few years back if I'm not mistaken. I'm told the results were breathtaking.
3-D STAR WARS projects were again mentioned during the recent announcement that In-Three, the company which developed the previously mentioned ShoWest footage, would be using its proprietary "dimensionalization" technology to rework Romero's DAWN OF THE DEAD into a new 3-D theatrical presentation (details HERE).
Now, it seems, Lucas has his heart set on the matter.
ComingSoon.net caught up with DreamWorks Animations CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg on Tuesday and learned that George Lucas is looking to repurpose the six "Star Wars" episodes into 3D format.

Wow. 3-D Star Wars would be cold blooded, if it's really in the works, or actually sees completion then I'll go see it.

Huh? 3D Millenium Falcon. Popping out the screen and flying over you. 3D Battle of Hoth. 3d Death Star exploding, all the little fragments rushing towards you. 3D Vader sucking Hans gun away from and right at you in Empire. 3d Bobba Fett jetting towards you.

Hell yeah. This is the best Star Wars news I've heard since the first new one came out.

A-L: This is the exact kind of thing that gets Lucas going, so I have a feeling it will happen. 3D technology is pretty good these days, and I'm sure he'll throw millions at this project to make it the best there is.
