SevenWritez is an unknown quantity at this point
And he's four years old? Have you talked this over with him yet?

Only his Mum. Tonight we discussed why owls fly at night and where the North Star was, I was stumped on the latter.

Wow... four years old an knows he wants to be a banker?

As to teaching him, are you or his mother fluent in Mandarin? I'd be fascinated to learn how you plan to teach such a young child Mandarin.

Everyone, thanks for your great responses.

To the person who mentioned Elvish-well then I'll learn what I can; really it's just fun and my sheer love of Elves that brings this on

Tucan-that's insane! I mean, I do watch subtitled animes and pick up on stuff, but I also have a textbook which I do a chunk of my work out of...

And Rammstein=Love.

So does Gackt. Yes. I am learning Japanese and German through music (my grandmother translates the Rammstein because she's German... and I've gotten her into it! HA!)

I hate elves! They're used in almost every freaking fantasy book (in one form or another)!

I eally want to learn another language, in fact several would be very nice, but I just don't enjoy the process necessary to learn them. I find language courses rather dull.

JHB,

But they are prettiful and long lived and awesomnesses and I. Will. Never. Get. Sick. Of. Elves.

~Dianna

A-L,

They can be indeed... but I'm determined. I blame Inuyasha and Sailor Moon.

I was a huge Sailor Moon fan as a kid and it had nothing to do with the plot.

Should he want to follow in his father's footsteps, then that's what he will be.

His mother worked in Hongkong for a couple of years and knows enough Mandarin to get by (or, so she says). I can't judge, because I don't know any.

The boy's sole interest at the moment is surfing Penguins.

I don't know, like ten?How long ago was the show on?

I started planning for my next book. It'll be twelve chapters long and each of the chapter titles are in Latin:
1. In Omnia Paratus
2. Tu Fui, Ego Eris
3. Capax Infiniti
4. Ars Longa Vita Brevis
5. Audeamus
6. Dona Nobis Pacem
7. In Articulo Mortis
8. Fortes Fortuna Juvat
9. Deus Ex Machina
10. Dies Irae
11. Acta Est Fabula
12. Exeunt Omnes

I name the last chapter in every book I write Exeunt Omnes because I'm a theater dork. It's a trademark of mine, like how alot of my characters are named after murderers, the Greek chorus, or my frequent pop culture references.

I've heard Latin's a bitch to learn.

I need to listen to Rammstein. That will calm me down. My blood is BOILING.
