I saw it, last night at 12. It was AMAZING. I loved it!
Dude, I almost cried for reasons I won't say because of spoilers. Heath Ledger was the best part of the movie. And Christian Bale is amazing as always.
I was very excited for this movie and I have to say it DID live up to the hype. =D
Oh, btw, mi_is_happy, I love your signature! The box thing.

Arg. I need to see this bad. I saw the first six minutes and a fight in the middle where Joker was wailing on some guy. The opener seemed a little cheesy, but it was almost exactly like the dialog I would expect from a comic book, so that's always a good sign. Bootleggers of the world, pirate this film!
Thanks for the feedback on it, though, it's good to hear it lives up to it. I remember hearing that the Memento director was in charge of the new Batman movies some years ago, and I knew they would rock. The first one blew Burton's films out of the water.

I'm curious how much of the gushing that the media is doing of Ledger's Joker is legitimate and how much is just posthumous cockstroking.
Guess I'll find out tomorrow. Looks fantastic anyway, and I'm also kinda curious to see what they do with Dent.

Dent looks good. I love what's his name. He rocked in Thanks for Smoking.
Just from the first six minutes I saw, Heath really does nail the role. I had the same doubts as you, but just the way he carries himself was perfect. The dialog I saw wasn't great, but it looked like he was really pulling it off.
I heard he isolated himself in an apartment for a couple weeks to get a feel for the psychopath mindset. I have no idea how being alone in an apartment would in any way relate to psychopathy. That just sounds like stupid bullshit.
Still, crossing my fingers and hoping he keeps up the great stuff I saw.

Those things generally rely more on the overall image, rather than good lines, plots acting, whatever (note: Johnny Depp in "Pirates of Caribe"... it's the LOOK that drives it)
And from the tiny bit i've seen, I'd have to say it's pretty happening. Might pale the Nicholson Joker in sheer style.

So did it end with the hint of a sequel? Because if the reviews are to be believed, this movie was the shit. The reason I ask of a sequel is because of my now inane Spider-Man fear.
Remember the first two films? Great, yeah? Remember the third?
I hope Batman doesn't suffer the same fate.

Well, I've heard they setup up Dent/Two Face, but he never is really the bad guy in this film, so I'm sure there's another coming.

Actually I always thought Batman bad guys were nothing compared to Dick Tracy baddies.

Just got back from seeing it. I'm afraid I wasn't able to fully grasp the terror of the Joker because all I saw was Heath Ledger. But he did an astounding job. The movie was two and a half hours long and kept me hooked the entire time. It's like the first Batman movie with a little bit of Saw mixed into it. Amazing.
